The FSIN of Stavropol extended the mourning period due to the death of another convoy officer.

The Federal Penitentiary Service for the Stavropol Territory extended the mourning period until the end of this week in institutions after the death of the second employee, who was wounded during an attack on the convoy on the train "Vladikavkaz - Adler".

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", another FSIN employee died in the hospital, who was attacked by an inmate on the train near the Murtazovo station in Kabardino-Balkaria.

On the evening of October 2, one of the inmates being transported by the train "Vladikavkaz – Adler" attacked the convoy staff near the Murtazovo station in Kabardino-Balkaria: one FSIN employee was killed, several others were injured, and the attacker was shot dead. On October 3, it became known that four injured FSIN employees were taken to hospitals, two of whom were in serious condition, and two others were in moderate condition. On October 5, the deceased employee of the FSIN for the Stavropol Territory, Senior Sergeant of Internal Service Anatoly Grinchenko, was buried in the Predgorny District of Stavropol.

The FSIN for the Stavropol Territory extended the mourning period in institutions after the death of the second employee, who was wounded during the escort of inmates. Until the end of October 11, flags will be flown at half-mast in the territories of the units, reports "Kommersant" today, citing the press service of the agency.

Initially, a three-day mourning period was declared - from October 5 to 7, a decision made after the first case of the death of an FSIN employee. During the mourning period, all entertainment and cultural events are canceled in the territories of all units, reports "Interfax".

It should be noted that on October 3, sources reported that the attacker on the convoy was inmate Dmitry Pushkarev. He had previously been extradited from Georgia to face criminal charges for drug offenses and the creation of a criminal community.

In the first hours after the incident, sources in law enforcement reported a riot by inmates and the taking of convoy officers hostage. Later, the FSIN denied the information about the riot and stated that the attack was carried out by one inmate who seized the convoy officer's service weapon. There were no casualties among civilian passengers. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under articles on the theft of firearms, the disorganization of the activities of institutions ensuring isolation from society, and the encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer.
