Residents of Chechnya cleared the mountain road after a landslide on their own.

Students from Chechnya manually cleared the mountain road after a landslide, removing boulders and rock debris from the roadway. Other residents of the republic, commenting on the video on social media, noted that such work should be done by specialized services, pointing out that the landslide was still ongoing at that moment.

The video published on social media shows a mountain road near a sheer cliff, part of the roadway is blocked by stones and rock debris. Several young people are manually clearing the road: lifting large stones from the asphalt and carrying or throwing them to the side. Other participants stand nearby and then also join in the cleanup. A car can be seen stopped on the road. By the end of the video, most of the large stones have been removed from the roadway, and one of the men continues to clear the remaining debris. The caption to the video says: "Students from Chechnya manually cleared the mountain road after a landslide."

The video was published on October 5 by the Instagram account chpchechnya_95, which has about 12,500 followers. As of 08:45 Moscow time on October 7, the video had received 219 likes and 37 comments.

Participants in the discussion praised the students but pointed out the risk of a repeated landslide and debated whether the residents of the republic should clear the road themselves.

"This is a very dangerous job; meanwhile, another large stone could fall on them, from which they might not be saved. The risk is high. I say this because I myself, while passing through such a section, almost became a victim: a stone fell on our car, and the driver managed to swerve, so the stone hit the right side and cut the metal, splitting in two, and the part that got under the car below damaged something, so our car was towed from there for repairs through several villages. The guys did great!" – wrote f.g.affa.

"And who will clear it for you? America or Europe?" – replied musl5747.

"There are special services, workers who deal with this during landslides. And I'm not saying they did anything wrong; I'm saying it's risky. The guys did great; the residents always clean up themselves there," – replied f.g.affa.

"If we have started to take pride in this and it has become something surprising for us, then our affairs are already bad," – pointed out bilal_okhaev.

"Certainly, there was a certain risk: the landslide had not stopped, and stones were still falling. However, we cleared the path not for glory and do not consider ourselves heroes. On the contrary, we are convinced that correct and useful actions should be spoken about openly," – wrote mr_khamzaev.

As of 08:45 Moscow time on October 7, there are no comments on the website of the Ministry of Automobile Roads of Chechnya regarding the students' initiative to clear the mountain road after the landslide.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Chechnya periodically solve various problems on their own and complain about the work of specialized services and the long wait for help. For example, on July 1, residents of the republic reported interruptions in garbage collection, noting that after their appeals, they were promised to remove the waste, but in some cases, the cleanup was not carried out.

On June 30, residents and activists of the Sernovodsky district independently cleaned the banks of the Sunzha River from garbage.

On April 3, residents of Chechnya reported that the consequences of flooding homes and personal farms had to be addressed by themselves, as the processing of compensation takes a significant amount of time.
