Villagers in Dagestan complained about the condition of the school

The yard of the school in the village of Shushanovka in the Kizilyurt district has been flooded for the second week, and the school lacks a gym and proper toilets, a local resident complained on social media. Other villagers, commenting on her complaint, pointed to the emergency state of the building and the years of unfulfilled promises from the authorities to build a new school.

According to a resident of the village of Shushanovka in the Kizilyurt district, the territory of the local school has been flooded for the second week. In the video she filmed, a significant part of the yard is covered with water, large puddles are located between the buildings and trees. The camera also captured eroded ground and ditches with water, with trash visible in some places. Numerous puddles are standing on the roads and paths. Large puddles have also formed in the passage between the buildings and the fence.

"Children come home wet and dirty, there is no gym or proper toilets. They have physical education in this swamp. Can't we have a normal school with all the amenities?" – complained the resident.

The video with the resident's appeal was published on October 6 by the Instagram* public page golos.dagestan_, which has about 394 thousand followers. As of 07:45 Moscow time on October 7, this video had received 92 likes and 20 comments.

Other villagers also pointed out the poor and, in their opinion, dangerous condition of the school in the comments. "The school is in an emergency state, exposed wires are sticking out, and the floor is collapsing in some places. These circumstances raise concerns about the safety and health of the students. The classrooms are cramped, and there aren't enough of them," wrote xll_ms.1.

"A school is needed there, there are many children, the school is small, there aren't enough places, and it is also in an emergency condition. Sending children to school puts them in danger; one natural disaster could collapse it like a cardboard box. There is no gym or assembly hall! All events take place in the school yard, and if the weather is bad, there are no physical education classes," pointed out omarova__77.

Participants in the discussion also criticized the lack of a solution to the problem and demanded a response from the authorities. "So many years of promises to build a new school, every head promises, but in the end, nothing changes; apparently, they are waiting for it to collapse on the children's heads," noted khamisat_gudulova.

"We demand attention! Our children deserve better conditions for full-fledged education!" – emphasized omarova__77.

As of 07:45 Moscow time on October 7, there were no comments on the website of the Kizilyurt district administration regarding the complaints of local residents about the condition of Shushanovskaya Secondary School.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Dagestan periodically complain about problems with dilapidated schools. For example, on October 6, residents of the village of Aksai reported that the emergency building of school No. 2 was used for classes, the school itself is in poor condition, and children have to study in three shifts. On September 9, residents of the village of Gyukhrag complained that children study in a private house, where they were transferred after the old school was recognized as emergency.
