A resident of Stavropol has been convicted of publicly justifying terrorism.

The court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced resident of the Stavropol Territory Ekaterina Zhulenko, finding her guilty of publicly justifying terrorism. Taking into account a previously issued sentence for desecrating burial sites of participants in the special military operation, she was sentenced to seven years in a penal colony.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in March, resident of the Stavropol Territory Ekaterina Zhulenko was sentenced to two years of imprisonment for making offensive inscriptions and symbols at the burial sites of servicemen who died during the special military operation.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced resident of the Stavropol Territory Ekaterina Zhulenko, finding her guilty of publicly justifying terrorism (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), reports Kommersant on October 6.

According to the case materials, in January 2023, while outside Russia, Zhulenko posted a comment under a publication about the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which, according to experts' conclusions, contained signs of justifying terrorism.

Zhulenko's punishment was assigned in conjunction with the sentence of the Kursk District Court of the Stavropol Territory, which in March convicted her for desecrating burial sites of participants in the special military operation. Taking into account the cumulative sentences, the final punishment amounted to seven years in a general regime penal colony.
