A former political prisoner from Adygea reported an assassination attempt on his life

Citizen of Germany and Russia Kevin Lik, who lived in Adygea before the verdict in the case of treason and the subsequent exchange of prisoners with Western countries, spoke about his poisoning and linked the assassination attempt to Russian special services.

"Caucasian Knot" reported that Kevin Lik from Maykop was sentenced to four years in prison on December 28, 2023, on charges of treason. On July 2, 2024, it became known that Kevin Lik arrived at a colony in the Arkhangelsk region. A month later, on August 1, 2024, Lik and 15 other convicts were released as part of a prisoner exchange with Western countries.

According to the investigation, Kevin Lik assisted Germany in activities directed against the security of Russia. The investigation believes that, as a schoolboy, he observed a local military unit and photographed its locations. A month after the young man’s release, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Adygea reported that Kevin Lik's conviction had not been lifted, and "there is no information about the release of the convict."

About the assassination attempt on him, 20-year-old Kevin Lik reported today on his social media page, stating that he “is forced to take an academic leave.” The poisoning attempt occurred, according to Lik, back in May.

“In May, two years after my release, I celebrated my birthday with friends for the first time. A person I had only seen a few times before showed up at the meeting. He left about an hour and a half later. Soon I felt unwell: loss of consciousness, pulmonary edema, respiratory arrest, bradycardia – my pulse almost stopped, there were convulsions,” wrote the former political prisoner.

According to Lik, he experienced cardiac arrest and subsequently had a number of severe neurological symptoms.

“Later, I received a call from the authorities informing me that they would not leave this without consequences: a criminal case was opened on suspicion of attempted murder. There are many coincidences in the case that, in my opinion, indicate possible involvement of Russian special services,” he reported.

Lik refused to publicly disclose other details of the case. He expressed regret that he did not give himself time to recover after imprisonment and is now forced to ask for help from his followers. The former political prisoner faces rehabilitation.

"Caucasian Knot" reported that as part of the exchange, the Russian side at Ankara airport handed over 16 prisoners (including US citizens and people with dual citizenship), while the US and other Western countries handed over eight prisoners, including Vadim Krassikov, sentenced in Germany to life imprisonment for the murder of a Chechen native Zelimkhan Khangoshvili.

Khangoshvili was killed in the Kleine Tiergarten park in central Berlin on August 23, 2019. Returning from the mosque, he was walking along a forest path in the park when the killer approached him on a bicycle, first shot him in the back, then finished him off with a shot to the head and rode away.
