Rescuers found a mother and child who were lost in the mountains of Arkhyz.
A tourist with a child, lost on the way to the Sofia Lakes, was brought to the village by rescuers. They did not require medical assistance.
"Caucasian Knot" reported that in the evening of October 5, rescuers in Karachay-Cherkessia began searching for a tourist with a child who got lost in the mountains. The mother and child strayed from the trail during a hiking trip, and they did not register their route with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations discovered the lost tourists in the mountains of Karachay-Cherkessia and helped them reach a populated area, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported this morning.
People who strayed from the trail on the tourist route were brought down from the mountains and delivered to the village of Arkhyz. "The descent operation was successfully completed. The tourists did not require medical assistance," the agency's message states.
It was previously reported that the woman and child were heading to the Sofia Lakes, which are located at an altitude of about 2800 meters,
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on September 21, rescuers began searching for two climbers who went missing on Mount Dykhtau in the Cherek district of Kabardino-Balkaria. On September 22, the mountain area was surveyed by helicopter, but without results, and on September 23, the climbers were found dead.
