Chechen activists supported Mansur Movlaev at a rally in Paris.

Chechen activists Abubakar Yangulbaev and Said Dzhumaev participated in a rally in Paris demanding that the authorities of Kazakhstan cancel the extradition of Mansur Movlaev. The participants of the rally also expressed support for Yulia Emelyanova.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 5, politician Boris Nadezhdin* and human rights activist Natalia Arno* participated in a rally calling on the authorities of Kazakhstan to cancel the extradition of Mansur Movlaev, a native of Chechnya. On September 29, 153 human rights defenders and organizations called on the authorities of Kazakhstan to stop the extradition of Movlaev and activist Yulia Emelyanova; earlier, rallies with such demands took place in Tbilisi, Ljubljana, Tokyo, and New York.

Said (Said-Muhammad) Dzhumaev is a native of Chechnya who gained notoriety after clashing with security forces at a rally in support of Alexei Navalny in Moscow on January 23, 2021. In August 2021, a court sentenced him to five years in a penal colony for using violence against a representative of the authorities. Dzhumaev served his full term and was released on July 17, 2025. Analysts linked the absence of parole to Dzhumaev's failure to respond to a public call from the Chechen authorities to repent and return to the republic.

Chechen activists Abubakar Yangulbaev (listed by Rosfinmonitoring as a terrorist and extremist) and Said Dzhumaev joined the rally in Paris in support of Mansur Movlaev and Yulia Emelyanova, reported on October 5 by the Instagram** public of the support group for Movlaev, free_mansour_movlaev.

In the published photos, Yangulbaev and Dzhumaev hold placards demanding that the authorities of Kazakhstan prevent the extradition of Movlaev and Emelyanova to Russia.

Recall that in 2022, Mansur Movlaev was detained by security forces in Chechnya and was held in an illegal prison. He escaped from there in January 2023 and made it to Kyrgyzstan. In August 2023, security forces in Kyrgyzstan detained Movlaev, who was wanted in Russia for financing extremism. A court in Bishkek sentenced Movlaev to six months in a penal colony and subsequent deportation from the country. On November 20, 2023, Movlaev was released and left Kyrgyzstan on his own to avoid being sent back to his homeland.

In May 2025, Movlaev was detained in Kazakhstan and placed under extradition arrest. The Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan ruled to extradite him to the Russian authorities.

In February, the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan suspended the execution of the decision to extradite Movlaev until his asylum application is finally considered. On September 10, it became known that the cassation court in Kazakhstan found no violations in the refusal to grant Movlaev asylum. Movlaev, held in a Kazakhstani pre-trial detention center, attempted suicide.
