The woman and child went missing in the mountains of Karachay-Cherkessia

Rescuers in Karachay-Cherkessia are searching in the mountains of Arkhyz for two people: a mother and child who got lost during a hiking trip.

Employees of the Karachay-Cherkess Search and Rescue Team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations began searching for the tourist and her child on the evening of October 5, who got lost in the mountains.

The missing tourists in Arkhyz did not register their route with the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The mother and child were heading to the Sofia Lakes and got off the trail, reported the republican department of the agency.

The Sofia Lakes are located at an altitude of about 2800 meters; in September, rescuers were needed for a group of six tourists in this area, notes the Telegram channel SHOT.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on September 21, rescuers began searching for two climbers who went missing on Mount Dykhtau in the Cherek district of Kabardino-Balkaria. On September 22, the mountain area was surveyed by helicopter, but without results, and on September 23, the climbers were found dead.
