Former deputy Doroshenko has been arrested in Sochi.
Former State Duma deputy Andrey Doroshenko has been sent to a pre-trial detention center in Sochi by court decision. He is accused of embezzling 1.8 billion rubles intended for road repairs in the Krasnodar region.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in early February, the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia filed a lawsuit for the confiscation of assets of former State Duma deputy from Kuban Anatoly Voronovsky, current deputy Andrey Doroshenko, and several other individuals. Bailiffs seized about 20 organizations specializing in road works. Also sent to the pre-trial detention center were the former head of the Union of Road Workers of Kuban Darya Chubachuk and entrepreneurs Igor Serdyuk and Evgeny Nikogda.
The Central District Court of Sochi granted the investigation's request to arrest Andrey Doroshenko, accused of large-scale fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code). This article provides for up to ten years of imprisonment.
According to the case materials, from 2017 to 2025, Doroshenko, acting in conjunction with other individuals, intentionally embezzled budgetary funds intended for the repair and reconstruction of highways in the Krasnodar region. The embezzlement was carried out through the association “Union of Road Workers of Kuban” and the fund for promoting the construction of socially and culturally significant facilities “My Kuban,” the Unified Press Service of the courts of the region reported today.
According to the investigation, over eight years, road industry enterprises, at the request of officials, contributed more than 1.8 billion rubles to this fund. “The funds were directed by the members of the criminal group to controlled bank accounts and withdrawn into the shadow turnover, that is, they disposed of them at their discretion,” the investigation claims.
The court concluded that Doroshenko cannot be under bail or house arrest, as after the seizure of property by the Prosecutor General's Office, he has neither “suitable housing” nor the ability to post bail.
Doroshenko has been sent to a pre-trial detention center for one month and 16 days, until November 19, 2026.
Andrey Doroshenko is a native of Armavir, a member of “United Russia,” and a former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar region. Since 2021, he was a deputy of the State Duma of the eighth convocation, whose term expired on September 30.
"Caucasian Knot" reported that as part of the Prosecutor General's lawsuit, a protective arrest was imposed on three companies owned by the deputy's children, Milana and Eldar Doroshenko. Both are charged with large-scale fraud or fraud committed by an organized group; the court detained them in February.
