Villagers in the Gagra district pointed out to officials the unresolved problem with the bridge.
The bridge over the river in the village of Makhadyr in the Gagra district of Abkhazia, which local residents use on their way to school and work, is in an emergency state, a local resident complained on social media. Other villagers, commenting on her complaint, noted that children have fallen from the bridge multiple times, and that the problem has not been resolved for a long time.
A resident of the village of Makhadyr filmed the condition of the bridge connecting the villages of Makhadyr and Kacyrh in the Gagra district. The video was published on October 3 by the Instagram* public chp_abh. The footage shows that the bridge's surface is severely damaged: it is covered with gravel, stones, and concrete debris, with edges of the surface destroyed in places and metal reinforcement visible. In one section, the surface is almost absent, and wooden beams and boards are laid over the gaps and unevenness, which the author of the post carefully crosses over the damaged area.
According to the woman, the bridge is the only road that local residents use to get to school and work. She reported that her child slipped on the wet boards. The resident also stated that in the spring, a commission from the Gagra district, led by the deputy head of the administration, inspected the bridge, and after the inspection, officials promised to monitor its condition, but, according to her, no further actions were taken.

Commenters, identifying themselves as local residents, criticized the lack of a solution to the problem. "My brother slipped and fell a week ago while going to school, and with wet and dirty pants, he went to school to not miss a test," complained shishmanyan_kristi.
"No one has ever done anything there, they can only talk. The road is in terrible condition, it's impossible to walk in winter. And no one cares," pointed out anaida54.
"There will be no reaction until something bad happens," believes muselimjan74mail.ru.
"What a horror, why do we rarely do anything on time? Why let it get to such a state? It's very dangerous!" wrote 11111fer.
"Hang in there. Only a statement to the administration can move something. Better yet, to the prosecutor's office," advised marinakara4932.
As of 09:40 MSK on October 4, there are no comments on the Gagra district administration's website regarding residents' complaints about the condition of the bridge in the village of Makhadyr.
At the same time, on April 2, the district administration reported on its website that the deputy head of the Gagra district administration, Karen Kulyan, and the acting head of the municipal services department, Teimuraz Chkotu, inspected the bridge connecting the villages of Makhadyr and Kacyrh at the request of local residents. Following the inspection, a decision was made to carry out repair and restoration work.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Abkhazia periodically complain about infrastructure problems. For example, on June 14, residents of the village of Naush in the Gulripsh district complained that they have been without water supply for eight years, and appeals to the authorities yield no results. In March 2024, residents of Gagra demanded that the authorities resolve the issue of regular water supply interruptions.
