Energy workers discovered a large mining farm in the Unzukul district.

Another illegal mining farm with 140 devices for cryptocurrency extraction was discovered by energy workers in the village of Maidan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", since the beginning of the year, 52 illegal mining farms have been discovered in Dagestan, with 958 devices for cryptocurrency extraction seized. On September 21, another illegal mining farm was found in the village of Balakhani in the Unzukul district.

Employees of the Gumbet Republican Electric Networks, together with police, conducted a raid to identify mining farms. The inspection was carried out after increased load and overheating of equipment at the "Maidansk" substation was detected, writes RIA "Dagestan" on October 3.

In the village of Maidan in the Unzukul district, a mining farm with 140 specialized devices was ultimately found, and the damage from the farm's operation is being clarified.

The Unzukul district has repeatedly been mentioned as a location for illegal mining farms: in August - in the villages of Maidan, Unzukul and Shamilkala, in June - in the villages of Unzukul and twice in the village of Maidan, in January - in Shamilkala.

In December 2024, the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov signed an appeal to the government of Russia requesting a ban on cryptocurrency mining in the republic due to the load on the power grid. The Russian government introduced a complete ban on mining from 2025 until March 15, 2031, which is also implemented in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Chechnya.
