In the Akhtynsky, Dakhadayevsky, Kaytagsky, Tlyaratinsky, and Charodinsky districts of Dagestan, traffic is blocked on six sections of roads due to rockfalls, landslides, and mudflows.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Road Management of Dagestan, by the evening of October 3, transport communication was interrupted in five districts of the republic.
In the Akhtynsky district, the road "Access from the highway Akhty - Kurukal - Khnov to the children's sanatorium near the village of Fiy" is closed at the fifth kilometer due to collapses and mudflows. Due to a rockfall, a section of the highway "Levashe - Akusha - Urkarakh - Madzhalis - Mamedkala - Kunk" (20 km) is closed in the Dakhadayevsky district, reports "Interfax".
In the Kaytagsky district, the highway "Madzhalis - Varsit - Shilansha" (11+700 km) is closed due to landslides. The passage of vehicles is prohibited on the section of the road "Tlyarata - Kamilukh" at the 16th kilometer in the Tlyaratinsky district due to landslides in the area of the village of Saniorta. Also, since the morning of October 3, the highway "Landa - Shidib" is temporarily closed at the first kilometer due to rockfalls. The villages of Bochoh, Khantakolob, and Shidib are left without transport communication.
In the Charodinsky district, a landslide occurred at the 27th kilometer of the highway "Tsurib - Archib".
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that due to bad weather, dozens of settlements in Dagestan are regularly cut off from transport communication. For example, due to heavy rains on July 7-8, 56 settlements in Dagestan were cut off from transport communication. Most of them were freed from the transport blockade only on July 12. In August, a state of emergency was introduced in the settlements of Aymaki, Gergabil, Kikuni, Kurmi, and Khvartikuni. On October 2, it became known that the Red Bridge in the Gunibsky district was destroyed due to prolonged rains and water discharge from the Gotsatlin hydroelectric power station.
