Users criticized the new sand on Anapa's beaches.
No complaints about the quality of sand and water from Anapa were received in the summer; the beaches after being replenished with new sand are absolutely safe, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor. Commentators believe the new sand is unsuitable for beaches.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", representatives of Rosprirodnadzor, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Marine Rescue Service confirmed that the pumping of fuel oil from the sunken parts of tankers near Anapa has been completed. The work to raise parts of the tankers from the bottom of the Black Sea will be monitored by the relevant agencies. Clean sand has been dumped on the affected beaches of Anapa, after which the permit documents from Rospotrebnadzor were received for 115 beaches.
On September 17, the Marine Rescue Service reported that the radar image from September 16 in the area of the sunken parts of the tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" showed pollution of unknown origin. Satellite images of the Kerch Strait also showed slicks emanating from the cofferdams installed over the sunken parts of the tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239".
During the summer season, there were no complaints from vacationers about the quality of water and sand at the resort, reported RIA Novosti, citing the head of the supervisory agency Anna Popova.
"Both the water and the sand in Anapa after its replacement showed very good results. People who vacationed there noted both the quality of the sand and the quality of the water; they are satisfied with their vacation. We have not received any complaints about health issues or findings of oil slicks. Rospotrebnadzor continues monitoring along the Black Sea coast. The results show absolute safety of the beaches both in Anapa and along the entire coast," emphasized Popova.

"The new sand on Anapa's beaches is not identical to the old one: it contains pieces of clay, stones, and some areas have hardened to the consistency of concrete. The sandy beaches today bear little resemblance to those that Anapa used to be so proud of, and despite the hundreds of millions of rubles spent on replenishment, they have lost their uniqueness," the blogger emphasized.
"Now we should take all this left sand with clay and take it to construction sites," suggested Vladimir ko.
"This sand is like concrete," believes Alena Ivolga.
"And the color is different... It's much coarser and colder... while the native sand is gentle and tender... It's good that it remains in places," writes Ekaterina Orlova.
The resort season in Anapa opened against a sharp contrast in the state of the coast. Some beaches are open and deemed safe, while other areas are closed due to erosion, unstable soil, and environmental risks. A report from "Caucasian Knot" details which beaches are ready for visitors and which pose dangers in "Anapa's Beaches: Open and Dangerous Zones".
Despite the problems with sand and algae on the beaches, Anapa showed the most significant increase in tourists in the Krasnodar region in July highlighted by hoteliers. Hotels are keeping prices in Anapa at last year's level and even holding sales, noted a hotelier.
On December 15, 2024, two tankers carrying fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait. As a result, a crew member of one of the tankers died. Additionally, there was a spill of petroleum products, leading to catastrophic environmental consequences, according to a report from "Caucasian Knot" on "Fuel Oil Spill in the Kerch Strait". Materials on the consequences of the fuel oil spill have been collected by "Caucasian Knot" on the page "Ecological Disaster in Kuban".
