Nalchik residents urged officials to start the heating season.

In Nalchik, residents have started to catch colds more often due to the low temperature outside and the lack of heating in their apartments, a local resident complained on social media. Other citizens, commenting on his complaint, urged officials to start supplying heat to their homes, as well as to turn on heating in schools and kindergartens.

According to one of the residents of Nalchik, his family members have started to catch colds more often because it is cold in the apartment against the backdrop of low outdoor temperatures, and heating has not yet been provided. "When will the heating season start in Nalchik?" he asked.

The appeal of the Nalchik resident was published on October 2 by the Instagram*-public goloskbr, which has about 193 thousand users. As of 12:20 MSK on October 3, this post had received 389 likes and 91 comments.

Other Nalchik residents complained about the cold and dampness in their apartments and pointed out that adults and children are getting sick because of this. "It's very cold, we are sitting in woolen sweaters and woolen socks," wrote maritaafaunova_1.

"This happens every year, year after year. And they don't care that people are freezing and getting sick," stated irinatabukhova.

"We haven't even recovered, and we're getting sick again. Woolen suits are a must," complained user lioness0889.

Other commentators urged the authorities to start the heating season earlier and specifically pointed out the cold in schools and kindergartens. "It's damp, cold, and there's no coziness in the homes. At least they could turn on the heating in kindergartens and schools," noted user lazzar_nalchik.

"It's also very cold in schools and kindergartens. Can we start the heating season earlier? Children can't sit in classes until three in the afternoon. They freeze and get sick!" pointed out aitmaima__07.

"In the mountains of the North Caucasus, it is snowing. Give us heating, children are freezing and getting sick, and we have elderly people who also want warmth," wrote marico0703.

As of 12:20 MSK on October 3, there are no comments on the Nalchik administration's website regarding the citizens' call to start the heating season earlier.

In the resolution of the local administration of Nalchik No. 836 on preparing the city for the autumn-winter period of 2026–2027, published on the administration's website, a specific date for the start of the heating season is not indicated. The document stipulates that the preparation of internal systems of central heating in apartment buildings and the main work on heating networks must be completed by October 1. In 2025, the heating season in Nalchik began on October 15 by order of the head of the city administration, Taymuraz Akhoyev, reported "Gazeta Yuga".
