A resident of Aksai refuted the authorities' statement about the closure of the emergency school.

The emergency building of school No. 2 in the village of Aksai in the Khasavyurt district continues to operate, despite officials' statements about its closure since 2020, a local resident reported. She filmed a video showing children on the school grounds and in its classrooms.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 29, after complaints about the condition of the school in Aksai, the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case for negligence. On the same day, the administration of the Khasavyurt district stated that classes are held in three of the four school buildings, while the building constructed in 1879 has been recognized as emergency and closed. The authorities also reported on the preparation of documents for the construction of a new school for 804 students.

The emergency building of school No. 2 in Aksai continues to be used for classes, one local resident stated. She filmed a video of students on the school grounds and in its premises. The video was published on October 2 by the Telegram channel Mash Gor.

The school continues to operate fully, and children are still studying there, said a woman in the video, introducing herself as one of the parents.

"We are parents of children studying at Aksai school No. 2. On September 30, the administration of the city of Khasavyurt denied our appeal and called all the information fake. They also said that the emergency building is closed, has been closed for a long time, and the children have been transferred to the completely renovated school No. 1. Now the school is fully functioning. This is school No. 2. Our children are still studying here. As you can see, we will not argue, we will not explain anything, we will just show you everything as it is. Here are the children who are present in the school today. The bell just rang, and they are going to class. The school from the street. And here are the students who are sitting in class," she said.

The video first shows a woman standing by the metal fence of the school and speaking into a microphone. Behind the fence, the school grounds and building are visible. Then the video shows screenshots of correspondence and appeals, after which the camera returns to the woman at the fence, and several children can be seen walking on the school grounds behind the fence.

The second part of the video shows a one-story building with white walls and windows. The camera zooms in on the windows, through which children inside can be seen. At the end, a blue plaque on the wall of the building with the name of the school is shown.

Recall that on September 29, one of the parents complained that the building of school No. 2 in Aksai is deteriorating, the windows in the classrooms are drafty, and there is no place for children to wash their hands. She also reported the absence of a gym. The school principal, Kahiv Alibekova, then stated that the primary school building is closed as emergency and children do not study in it. The village authorities promised to start construction of a new school on another site.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Dagestan periodically complain about dilapidated and unsuitable schools for studying. For example, on September 9, residents of the village of Gyukhrag complained that after the closure of the emergency school, children study in a rented private house, and the construction of a new school is delayed. On January 25, 2024, residents of the village of Shinaaz reported that more than 100 children study in two shifts in a dilapidated and cold building.
