The Federal Penitentiary Service confirmed the death of the guard on the train in Kabardino-Balkaria.

The press office of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) reported on October 3 the details of the incident that occurred on the "Vladikavkaz - Adler" train in Kabardino-Balkaria. According to the agency, the prisoner inflicted a fatal wound on the guard, injured three of his colleagues, and was killed, writes "Interfax".

The incident occurred when the convict was being taken out of the restroom; after attacking the guard, he seized his service weapon. During the operation, the guards shot the attacker. There were no casualties among the civilian population. "The situation is currently controlled and managed; information about a riot on the train is not true," the agency's message, quoted by the publication, states.

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kabardino-Balkaria has opened a criminal case on three articles - for the theft of firearms (part 1 of article 226 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), for the disorganization of the work of institutions ensuring isolation from society, committed with the use of violence dangerous to life and health (part 3 of article 321 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and for encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer (article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), writes "Interfax".
