The restaurant in Azerbaijan has been suspended after mass poisoning.
Ninety-two participants of the wedding celebration in Kyurdamir sought medical help with symptoms of poisoning. The restaurant where the event took place has been suspended during the investigation.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in July, eight participants of a memorial ceremony in Ganja went to the hospital with symptoms of poisoning. Among the victims were children. The victims were hospitalized with a diagnosis of "unspecified bacterial food poisoning". After treatment, all were discharged from the hospital.
Employees of the Food Safety Agency (FSAA) are conducting an investigation into the mass poisoning that occurred during the wedding celebration at the "Gunes" restaurant in the Kyurdamir district, a representative of the FSAA reported.
According to the agency, the food for the celebration was provided to the restaurant by the wedding organizer. Specialists took samples of food products and sent them to the laboratory. Until the investigation is completed, the restaurant's activities are restricted, the APA agency reported on the evening of October 1.
The prosecutor's office counted 92 victims
The Kyurdamir district prosecutor's office is also conducting an inspection, reported the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan. According to the agency, 92 people sought medical help with suspected food poisoning. All of them participated in the event that took place on September 30 at the restaurant in the city of Kyurdamir, Media.az reported on October 1.
"Samples of food products were taken from the public catering facility, appropriate examinations were appointed, and other necessary procedural actions were carried out. Those who sought help at the hospital received the necessary primary medical assistance, after which they were sent home under outpatient observation," the publication cites information from the prosecutor's office.
On September 30, the first 13 victims with symptoms of food poisoning were delivered to the Kyurdamir Central District Hospital, their condition was assessed as moderate. By the evening of September 30, the number of victims exceeded 50, including seven children, the Report agency reported on the same day.
It is worth noting that in August 2024, 50 people were poisoned in three restaurants in the Goygol district. Another 98 people were poisoned at a mourning ceremony in Ganja. All victims required medical assistance.
