The name of the killed soldier from Kalmykia has been announced.
Maxim Emelyanenko from Elista was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, authorities and security forces have acknowledged at least 267 fighters from Kalmykia as killed.

Maxim Emelyanenko was born in Elista on May 18, 1993. He studied at Elista Secondary School No. 10. In 2011, he was drafted for compulsory military service, serving in Kaliningrad in a motorized rifle regiment, where he completed his service with the rank of junior sergeant, reported the state news agency "Kalmykia".
In 2024, he decided to volunteer for the special operation zone as a UAV operator, later being transferred to reconnaissance. He underwent a week of training and was appointed as the group leader with the call sign "Dobry". On December 26, 2025, he was killed by a drone strike.
Thus, at least 267 combatants from Kalmykia have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who have been killed in the military operation.
