Two contractors from Uryupinsk were killed in combat.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by September 27, at least 1838 fighters from the Volgograd region had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

In the military operation, senior lieutenant, platoon commander Sergey Nikulin was killed, the Uryupinsk administration reported on September 30 in its Telegram channel.

"Sergey was born and raised in Uryupinsk, graduated from gymnasium. In a difficult time for the country, he signed a contract and went to the special operation zone [...]. He died while performing tasks during the special military operation in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The warrior was 57 years old. He is survived by a wife and son," the message states.

The day before, on September 29, the city administration reported the death of 28-year-old private Viktor Koshkin, who also lived in Uryupinsk, signed a contract, and went to the military operation zone, where he "died while performing tasks". "He is survived by his mother and children," the publication notes.

Thus, at least 1840 fighters from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

Earlier, the death of a fighter from Uryupinsk became known on September 10. At that time, the authorities reported that 33-year-old contractor Yevgeny Demkin was killed in the military operation.
