Mansur Gneev's relatives spoke about the difficult situation of his family.
The arrest and criminal prosecution of the Islamic blogger from Ust-Labinsk, Mansur Gneev, have worsened his family's financial situation. The blogger cannot work due to blocked accounts, the income has fallen on his wife, and expenses for legal defense and transfers were covered by acquaintances, said Gneev's lawyer and wife.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on December 26, 2025, the wife of the Islamic blogger from Ust-Labinsk, Mansur (Boris) Gneev, stated that after the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar to transfer the blogger from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest, he spent several days at home, but the Krasnodar Regional Court again detained him. At the hearing, Gneev reported a deterioration in his condition due to bronchial asthma. The family also reported that some of the property seized during the search was returned, but money, prayer mats, and several other items remained with the security forces.
Earlier, the Islamic blogger from Ust-Labinsk, Mansur (Boris) Gneev, was fined 15,000 rubles and arrested for two weeks for inciting hatred and hostility and disobeying the police. He stated that he had made an unsuccessful remark about Christianity and the ownership of Adyghe lands on his channel, and apologized. Previously, he had published an appeal on his YouTube channel to the coordinator of the "Russian Community", Andrey Tkachev.
Mansur Gneev is free, and the defense is awaiting the text of the appellate ruling and intends to continue appealing the verdict, said lawyer Maria Spasibukhova.
"On March 20, he was released under a ban on certain actions. The order to send him to a colony has not yet been issued. We are now waiting for the text of the appellate ruling. Of course, we plan to continue appealing the verdict all the way to the Supreme Court," she told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".
The seized property and money have not yet been returned to Gneev's family, and the question of their fate has been sent for reconsideration to the first instance court, Spasibukhova reported.
"In this part, the case has been sent for reconsideration to the first instance court; I hope they will be returned," she indicated.
Due to blocked accounts, Gneev finds it difficult to register as self-employed, and his family struggles to support themselves, noted the lawyer.
"Overall, he feels fine. He is, of course, hoping for cassation. He wouldn't want to go to a colony; he wants a normal life and to raise a child," Spasibukhova emphasized.
After Gneev's detention in September 2025, a Telegram channel "Help for Mansur Gneev and his family" was created. It published text messages and videos about the progress of the criminal case, Gneev's conditions of detention, his health status, court hearings, and appeals for help for the family. In December 2025, the channel reported on Gneev's transfer to house arrest and his return home on December 19, and then on the Krasnodar Regional Court's decision to detain him again in the pre-trial detention center on December 25. The family also reported a deterioration in Gneev's bronchial asthma in the isolation facility and that after the search, they were only returned part of the seized property.
After the August court session, Gneev was given the opportunity to move more freely, but he still cannot work, his wife Raida-Alysa Gneeva reported. According to her, her husband, in the status of a convicted person, is awaiting the consideration of the cassation appeal and hopes for a reduction of the sentence to a conditional term.
"This simplified my work deliveries and walks with the baby. Before that, he was released under ZOD, but the local FSIN decided that it was house arrest, so for almost five months he was not allowed to do anything or leave the house. But at the moment, he also cannot work, as his previous job was online, and regular work is not allowed by Rosfinmonitoring, so the income has fallen on me," Gneeva reported.
Help from fellow believers allowed the family to pay for legal services, transfers to Gneev, and expenses for the child, but now the family has to move due to financial difficulties, she added. Gneeva noted that she has encountered health problems.
The charges against Gneev include episodes that require different legal assessments, believes the head of the "Sova" Research Center* Alexander Verkhovsky.
"As I understand it, there is more than one video in the case. In one, he called for the extermination of the 'Zionist people'. And this is undoubtedly a call for violence based on ethnicity, regardless of what Gneev was guided by. In another instance, he approves of the actions of some Chechens who forcibly captured the blogger Shchepikhina, who was later convicted for xenophobic statements against Muslims. This is what the 'Russian Community' reacted to. Here, Gneev did not call for violence based on ethnicity. But there was approval of violence in response to hate speech. Which is also illegal in essence, but I think it should be qualified differently," Verkhovsky explained to a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".
