Drivers in North Ossetia doubted the usefulness of volunteers in combating queues at gas stations.

Volunteers will record traffic violations in queues at gas stations and send the materials to the traffic police, said the head of the republic, Sergey Menyaylo. Drivers in North Ossetia, commenting on this information on social media, doubted the effectiveness of such a measure. They also pointed to the operating hours of gas stations as the reason for the queues and urged the authorities to address the issue of fuel availability.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 27, users of the chat "Gasoline Ossetia" reported that to buy AI-95 at network gas stations, one has to stand in queues. According to the republican Ministry of Housing and Utilities, on that day AI-95 was available at only two of the 15 gas stations listed on the official website.

The head of North Ossetia Sergey Menyaylo instructed to empower volunteers from youth organizations to record traffic violations and send materials to the traffic police, reported the publication "Osnova News" on September 28.

"In Krasnodar and Novorossiysk, Cossack patrols record traffic violations for improper parking and send materials to the traffic police, where administrative proceedings are already initiated. Our volunteers will be able to act in a similar way," said Menyaylo.

The post about volunteers recording traffic violations was published on September 28 by the Instagram*-public region15.info, which has about 461 thousand followers. As of 10:45 AM Moscow time on September 29, this post received 43 likes and 16 comments.

Commentators, identifying themselves as drivers from North Ossetia, doubted the effectiveness of involving volunteers and pointed out that monitoring compliance with the rules should remain the police's task. "What powers does a volunteer have to regulate anything? What is the police for?" asked georgeskfo.

Other drivers linked the queues primarily to the operating hours of gas stations and pointed out the differences with neighboring regions. "There would be no queues if they worked not 3-4 hours a day, but as they should, around the clock. Like in other republics. I am very curious how volunteers will positively influence the situation with queues? And when should people refuel who need to be at work by 8 AM?" wrote vadik_metis.

"Today I stopped at the "Gazprom" in Cherenskaya, there were three cars in front of me, I waited 10 minutes and refueled with 92 gasoline, and there were four cars in line for gas," said aleksandr33912.

"What I want to say is – is this problem only in Ossetia? In the Stavropol Territory, there are no such long queues at either "Gazprom" or "Rosneft". In Karachay-Cherkessia either... What is the problem, rulers?" asked user marokana13.

Another part of the drivers criticized the actions of the authorities against the backdrop of ongoing fuel problems. "Better attract gasoline," wrote agaeveldar5552018.

"Volunteers will be running around with canisters. This is how Menyaylo solves the region's problems," stated user alaniia627.

Recall that on September 13, drivers in Vladikavkaz criticized the report of the Ministry of Housing and Utilities on the reduction of the price of auto gas, stating that the fuel price at the gas station remained the same. On September 12, residents of North Ossetia demanded effective measures from Menyaylo against the rise in gasoline prices, as well as an investigation into the reasons for the increase in fuel prices and procurement costs.
