A resident of Baku was injured in a mine explosion in the Shusha district.
Baku resident Bakhtiyar Bayramov was injured as a result of a mine explosion in the area of the former Karabakh conflict.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 6, a tractor driver detonated a mine in the uncleared territory of the Agdam district. The man was hospitalized.
In the area of the former Karabakh conflict, security forces, sapper units, and local residents periodically detonate mines. The villages where residents are relocated have been cleared of mines, but outside the populated areas, dangerous zones remain.
Today, in the village of Jamillyar in the Shusha district, a car driven by Baku resident Bakhtiyar Bayramov ran over an anti-tank mine, reports APA, citing a joint statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, and the Mine Clearance Agency.
According to the agencies, the driver, born in 1979, sustained injuries of varying severity. The incident occurred in an uncleared mine area. The Shusha district prosecutor's office has launched an investigation, writes Haqqin.az.
It should be noted that in August 2026, cases of people detonating mines in the former zone of the Karabakh conflict increased. According to analysts, this is related in part to the expansion of agricultural and restoration work, the increasing number of returning residents, and the challenges of clearing the territories.
