Law enforcement reported the detention of two couriers for filming the aftermath of the attack on Volgograd.
The customer forced couriers from Volgograd to photograph the consequences of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on an industrial enterprise; the photo ended up in a Ukrainian TG channel.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", law enforcement detained two young men and a girl in Volgograd who filmed and published a video of the aftermath of an airstrike on one of the enterprises.
In the regions of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasian Federal District, including Volgograd region, filming drone attacks and their consequences is prohibited. These prohibitions contradict the Constitution, which guarantees the inadmissibility of censorship and the freedom to seek, record, and disseminate information, lawyers pointed out.
The couriers from Volgograd were tricked into photographing the aftermath of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The guys were delivering an order from a pharmacy — a bandage was ordered. Suddenly, the customer asked the courier to take a photo of where he was. Later, the photo appeared on a Ukrainian channel, writes "Bloknot Volgograd".
A similar scheme for obtaining information about drone strikes was used with another courier.
Both couriers arrived at different sections of one of the enterprises, and then at the request of the customers, photographed the area behind the fence, writes V1.
"I know that there is a ban on filming Ukrainian strikes and their consequences in Russia; I did not intend to violate it. I was just used without my knowledge," one of the couriers said in a video recording.
The detainees claim they did not know what the photographs were actually for. They now face punishment up to criminal liability for treason.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at least three people were detained after their recordings of a missile attack on Volgograd at the end of June were posted online. In a conversation with law enforcement, which local media published, the detainees apologized. The coercion to apologize from the authors of the video about the attack on the Volgograd factory is an unofficial punishment aimed at manipulating public opinion. The ban on filming attacks has no practical meaning, but the authors of the video risk being accused of treason, experts told "Caucasian Knot".
On August 1, it became known that law enforcement detained two girls and one young man in Volgograd who were posting photos and videos of a fire at a Wildberries warehouse in chats. The detainees apologized on record.
