Gelendzhik Airport has suspended operations.
Restrictions have been introduced at Gelendzhik Airport due to flight safety concerns.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on the night of September 14, the airports of Vladikavkaz, Grozny, and Makhachkala were suspended. Restrictions were introduced to ensure flight safety, said Rosaviatsiya. On the morning of the same day, the restrictions were lifted.
Temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft have been introduced at Gelendzhik Airport, Rosaviatsiya reported last night.
"The restrictions are necessary to ensure flight safety," the publication states.
According to the current NOTAM (notice to airmen), Gelendzhik Airport accepts regular flights from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM Moscow time, the message notes.
Restrictions were also introduced at Sochi Airport overnight, and they were lifted by 03:16 Moscow time, according to the agency's publications.
Two airports in the Southern Federal District have been operating under restrictions since 2025
Recall that in March 2022, after the start of hostilities in Ukraine, the airports of Anapa, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, and Rostov-on-Don suspended operations. Elista Airport was also closed but resumed operations in May 2024. On July 9, 2025, the Ministry of Transport announced the opening of Gelendzhik Airport for domestic flights, as specialists recognized the possibility of safe flights to Gelendzhik during daylight hours. On July 18, 2025, the airport received its first flight.
In September of the same year, the Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of operations at Krasnodar Airport. Flights, as in Gelendzhik, were decided to be conducted only during the daytime. On September 17, 2025, the first passenger flight to Krasnodar after a three-year break was completed from Moscow's Sheremetyevo.
