The convict from Karachay-Cherkessia, Mikhail Semenov, is not being given the medications prescribed by the doctor in the settlement colony and is being denied an ambulance call when his health worsens, his wife reported.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 29, the wife of the climber from Teberda, Mikhail Semenov, complained that he had unsuccessfully sought medical assistance and complained about the conditions of detention first in the Cherkessk pre-trial detention center and then in the Moscow region pre-trial detention center. She emphasized that Mikhail is a disabled person of the second group and has a heart condition.
In July, law enforcement detained 38-year-old Mikhail Semenov in Karachay-Cherkessia for violating the deadline for reporting to the colony. Semenov was detained unjustly, as at that time he was undergoing a rehabilitation program, which, according to the law, is a valid reason, the lawyer pointed out.
On September 22, Mikhail Semenov's wife reported ongoing pressure on her husband in settlement colony No. 3 in Elektrostal (Moscow region), the Telegram channel "Word for Defense" reported today.
The video attached to the publication was filmed in selfie mode. In it, the woman introduced herself as Ekaterina Semenova, the wife of the convicted master of sports in climbing, Mikhail Semenov.
In less than a month, Mikhail has fainted there four times.
"I really need help and very much need public attention. First. In less than a month, Mikhail has fainted there four times. This is the minimum, this is what I know, what was reported to me in conversation with him and during short visits. The second point - there are no [highly qualified] doctors in the institution. There is a paramedic and an unclear girl who doesn't even have a medical education. For some reason, they decided not to give him the pills prescribed by the doctor, not to give him the vitamins that are in the doctor's prescription, and for some reason decided that they could independently cancel something [prescriptions] or endanger his health," the convict's wife stated.
According to Ekaterina, when her husband's health worsens, they refuse to call an ambulance for him, saying: "If you are going to die, then come."
"In this regard, I have written an incredible number of complaints and appeals, including to the Moscow prosecutor's office overseeing correctional institutions, - and the response is zero. Just formal replies that 'yes-yes-yes, we will look into it, check it'," the woman complained.
In addition, according to Semenova, on September 22 she was informed that Mikhail had been placed in a punishment cell (SHIZO). "On what basis he was sent there is also unknown to me for now. Whether there was a medical examination, I also do not know. [...] They are hiding all this carefully," she said.
Recall that on February 18, 2026, the Karachay District Court sentenced Mikhail Semenov to one year of imprisonment in a settlement colony. He was found guilty of illegally crossing the Russian-Abkhaz border through the Eastern Klukhori Pass in April 2024.
According to the climber's wife, he has poor relations with some of the law enforcement officers, as they turn a blind eye to the fact that the management of the reserve allows people to come to the border Klukhori Pass for a fee. "He is a climber, and 99% of climbers walking in the Caucasus occasionally cross the border, as it is difficult to monitor it in the mountains," Semenova told "Caucasian Knot".
On September 10, the Elektrostal City Court of the Moscow region denied the defense's request for Mikhail Semenov's early conditional release.
