A resident of Krasnodar was convicted for making a false report about a bomb threat at a bank.

A resident of Krasnodar has been sentenced to three years and three months in a settlement colony for reporting a bomb threat at a bank branch in Adygea and stating his willingness to disclose the location of the bomb after money was transferred to his account.

The Lenin District Court of Krasnodar sentenced a local resident named Litvinenko to three years and three months in a settlement colony for knowingly making a false report about a bomb threat at a bank in Adygea.

The court established that in July of last year, Litvinenko called the bank's hotline and reported a bomb planted at the branch in the village of Enem. He noted that he himself had left the explosive device and was ready to disclose its location after money was deposited into his bank card. However, he did not specify the exact amount, writes "Utrenny Yuzh" on September 22.

Police officers did not find any explosive device in the bank, and the man was detained. After the verdict was issued under part 2 of article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (knowingly false report of an act of terrorism), he appealed the verdict, but the Krasnodar Regional Court found no grounds for its mitigation.
