A resident of Krasnodar was fined for a comment about Putin's entourage.
The military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a native of Kuban to a monetary fine and confiscated the phone from which the man wrote an angry comment about the political leadership of the Russian Federation.
The convicted man is 33 years old, he is a native of the Kanevsky district of Kuban and a resident of Krasnodar. The case against him was initiated by the regional FSB office. The man was charged with public calls for terrorist activities online (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia), which provides for a prison sentence of five to seven years.
Courts in southern Russia regularly sentence local residents to real terms in prison for publications on social networks under the article on justifying terrorism via the internet. It is impossible to establish the actual number of such sentences, as not all cases of justifying terrorism make it into public court records.
The court established that on July 22, 2025, the man, while at home in Krasnodar, posted a comment in an open chat of a messenger. The security forces saw a call to "take the lives of all persons related to the entourage and activities of the President of the Russian Federation, the state leadership in Russia, as well as their relatives," the prosecutor's office of Krasnodar Krai reported.
The court sentenced the man to a fine of 360,000 rubles and deprived him of the right to administer any websites and internet pages for two years. In addition, the court confiscated the mobile phone from which the comment was left.
The prosecutor's office did not specify whether the man admitted his guilt, nor did it indicate his occupation. In the records of the Southern District Military Court, the names of most defendants in calls for terrorism are concealed. The "Caucasian Knot" currently has no comments from the convicted person or his lawyer regarding the sentence.
"Caucasian Knot" reported that the military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Alexander Borovkov from Novorossiysk to a term in prison, having found justification for terrorism in his comment about the case of Darya Trepova.
