A resident of Kabardino-Balkaria was fined for a banned book

The court in Nalchik fined a local resident under the article on the distribution of extremist materials. Investigators believe that she attempted to sell a religious publication online that is included in Russia's list of banned materials.

During operational-search activities, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria established the fact of selling religious literature recognized as extremist.

According to security officials, a 40-year-old resident of Nalchik posted an advertisement for the sale of a printed publication on one of the online platforms, which was included in the Federal list of extremist materials back in 2015, the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported today on its page on "VKontakte".

Based on the collected materials, the Nalchik City Court found the woman guilty of distributing extremist materials and imposed a fine on her.

According to the registry of administrative offenses on the court's website, the last case under this article was submitted to the court for consideration on September 12. The accused in the case file is Diana Indreeva. The ruling on the court's website regarding her has not yet been published.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the court sentenced a resident of the Prokhladnensky district to three years of conditional imprisonment for transferring money to an extremist organization. Earlier, the Nalchik City Court issued a guilty verdict against a man found guilty of financing extremist activities.
