Security forces reported the detention of underground arms dealers in the Unzukul district.

Four residents of the Unzukul district of Dagestan had homemade pistols, parts and screws from grips, carbines, and more than 800 cartridges seized.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, security forces discovered a workshop for weapon modification in the house of a previously convicted 60-year-old resident of the village of Balakhani in the Unzukul district.

"During the inspection, operatives seized over 200 cartridges of various calibers, grenades, fuses, magazines from AKM, and signal mines," the agency reported today on its Telegram channel.

Security forces also identified three more residents of the Unzukul district involved in weapon manufacturing. More than 600 cartridges of various calibers, homemade pistols, screws from grips, carbines, and a large number of spare parts were seized from their homes, the message said.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that cases of illegal circulation and modification of weapons are periodically discovered in Dagestan. Thus, on September 14, the FSB reported the detention of suspects in underground weapon modernization in 43 regions, including Dagestan. Security forces reported the seizure of 297 units of firearms and the closure of 37 underground workshops.

On July 27, in the Unzukul district, the National Guard detained a local resident, who, according to the agency, was found with a Makarov pistol with eight live cartridges.
