The drone attack disrupted the operations of polling stations in Sochi.
Polling stations in Sochi temporarily suspended operations due to a drone attack. Commission members, observers, and voters were moved to shelters, and after the threat was lifted, the stations resumed operations.
Today at 08:00 Moscow time, 244 polling stations opened in Sochi. Voting in the elections for deputies of the State Duma of the ninth convocation takes place on September 18, 19, and 20, the Sochi administration reported on its Telegram channel.
According to Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin, during the threat of a drone attack, members of the electoral commissions, observers, and voters present at the stations were moved to shelters.
"Members of the electoral commissions, observers, and voters present at the stations were moved to shelters until the status of "Drone Attack" was lifted," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Later, Proshunin reported the lifting of the drone attack threat. The polling stations resumed operations, the mayor added.
Let us remind you that today the chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova noted that in the Krasnodar region, one polling station was moved to a backup location after windows were shattered during a drone attack.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that Sochi is regularly subjected to drone attacks. Thus, on September 14, during a drone attack, five people were injured, including a child, and on September 4, Sochi residents spent several hours at night in shelters during one of the largest attacks on the city.
Residents of Kuban regularly complain about problems with shelters from drones. For example, on September 8, Krasnodar residents pointed out that some basements designated as shelters remain closed, and some rooms lack ventilation and safe exits. On May 4, residents of the Tuapse district criticized the list of shelters published by the authorities, stating that some of the listed premises are closed or unsuitable for these purposes.
