A resident of Kuban is accused of financing terrorism
The Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 19-year-old resident of the Korenevsky district, accused of financing terrorism. The case has been referred to the court for consideration.
According to the investigation, from January to March 2025, while residing in the Korenevsky district, he financed the activities of a terrorist organization through his account in one of the messengers. At that time, he was a minor.
Investigators claim that he transferred funds via an internet messenger to support the activities of the banned organization, as well as for its members to acquire weapons, clothing, and equipment, the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory reports today on its Telegram channel.
During the investigation, the accused admitted guilt under the article on financing terrorism , and at the investigator's request, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention, which remains in effect at present.
"The investigation has gathered sufficient evidence, and therefore the criminal case with the approved prosecutor's indictment has been sent to the court for substantive consideration," the agency's message states.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Evgeny Kalganov, a native of Novorossiysk, to 16 years in prison, finding him guilty of financing terrorism and treason. Earlier, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Evgeny Chernyshov, a resident of Novorossiysk, to 22 years in a strict regime, finding him guilty under the same articles.
