Villagers in Kabardino-Balkaria were left without a crossing over the river after the rain.
After the rain, the bridge over the river in the village of Sarmakovo in the Zolsky district was damaged, leaving the villagers without a crossing. They asked officials from the local administration for help in restoring the bridge.
One of the residents of the village of Sarmakovo in the Zolsky district filmed the damaged bridge over the river. The video was published by the Instagram* public chp.nalchik.
The footage shows the riverbed and a metal bridge, the middle of which has sagged. The video author stated that the bridge broke after the rains and asked officials for help in restoring it. "The administration of the Zolsky district, the administration of the city of Nalchik, please assist in restoring the bridge if it is not too difficult. We, the residents of the village of Sarmakovo, will provide our help as much as we can," said the villager.
In the caption to the video, the author also complained that the bridge could completely collapse. He noted that children walk on the bridge, and villagers drive cattle across it.
This video in the Instagram* public chp.nalchik, which has about 523.9 thousand followers, had received 176 likes and 11 comments by 10:40 Moscow time on September 15.
Commentators criticized the administration, and one of them found the author's offer to help restore the bridge inappropriate. "There is no money, but hang in there," wrote martovlik4.
"The Sarmakovites love to visit fortune-tellers. Enchant the administration," ironically suggested irishka___045. "What help? This is the administration's job," pointed out mahov919.
Other participants in the discussion argued about whether the district leadership is aware of the problem. "Dokshokov Ismail has done many good things for his village, as well as for the district. This issue needs to be brought to his attention; I am sure he will not leave it like this," stated a user with the nickname ali_putin111.
"He was the first to learn about this situation. As you can see, nothing has changed and is unlikely to change," replied kertbiev.71.
The bridge is necessary for villagers to drive cattle to pasture, added kertbiev.71. "And everyone else doesn't care about us, about the children, and even less about the cattle that are driven across this bridge. There are no pastures left in this village, and the bridge is the only road that leads to the pasture," he wrote.
As of 10:40 Moscow time on September 15, there are no comments on the Zolsky district administration's website regarding the complaints of Sarmakovo residents about the damaged bridge.
