In Sochi, searches are underway for a tourist who went missing during a solo hike in the mountains.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the tourist set off on a solo hike on September 2 and was supposed to get in touch on September 7 to report the end of his route.
At the same time, he did not register the hike with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, writes Kommersant on September 14.
Relatives of the missing person turned to rescuers for help. They also did not know the exact route of his movement, and the tourist's phone was unavailable. The Ministry of Emergency Situations began the search on September 10.
So far, they have surveyed the mountainous forest massif of the Alek, Ats, and Azhek ridges, the Chvizhepsa and Khosta rivers, and the mountainous forest area around the village of Vorontsovka, and are currently surveying the Iegosh ridge and the slopes of Mount Volchitsa, reports "Kuban 24".
Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in September last year, climber Sergey Melnikov went missing on the Aibga ridge; he was accompanying two clients as a guide, who returned to Krasnaya Polyana without him. A week later, he was found alive by border guards.
