Social media users debated the punishment of the parents of a minor driver in Chechnya.

Parents should not have posted a video showing a child driving a car, some social media users pointed out. Others felt that a fine was too lenient a punishment.

The message that law enforcement punished the parents of the boy driving the car was published by the *Instagram public "Emergency Chechnya".

In the video, the boy is sitting in the driver's seat and driving the car, with another minor child next to him. The boy driver is playfully interacting with a woman who is filming him.

"During monitoring of social networks, employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nadterechny District identified video material in which a minor is operating a vehicle without having the right to do so. An administrative case has been initiated against the legal representative of the minor. A preventive conversation was held with the minor about the inadmissibility of violating traffic rules and the necessity of adhering to safety requirements while participating in road traffic," the message states.
