In Yerevan, activists held actions near the embassies of Russia and Germany in support of people they consider political prisoners.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in Yerevan, activists have repeatedly held pickets demanding the release of prisoners, whose prosecution they consider unjust. This concerns prisoners in Russia as well as in European countries. On September 6, participants of the action in Yerevan near the Russian embassy demanded the release of prisoners they consider political prisoners – including those convicted in the "Furgal case". Also, a picket was held in Yerevan near the German embassy in support of Dmitry Bagrash, who faces deportation to Russia after serving his sentence in Germany.

Participants of the action held placards with inscriptions: "Freedom to political prisoners" and "Defendant of the fabricated Furgal case", as well as portraits of former governor of the Khabarovsk region Sergey Furgal, his accountant Galina Aleinikova, and her deputy Svetlana Osipenko, the Telegram channel reported in another publication.

It should be noted that Sergey Furgal was sentenced to 23 years in prison. In December 2025, a new guilty verdict was issued – this time on economic articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the total sentence amounted to 25 years.

According to the German prosecutor's office, Dmitry Bagrash attempted to set fire to the building of the Russian news agency RIA "Novosti" in Berlin in 2022; the investigation believes he placed a homemade bomb in the basement of the building where agency employees lived. The bomb did not go off, and it was later discovered by security forces. On June 20, Bagrash was charged with attempted murder. Before his arrest, Bagrash held actions against Vladimir Putin's policies, noted the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel on its website on June 22.
