The Gagloev party supported Kambolov in the presidential elections of South Ossetia.
Marat Kambolov is capable of ensuring the consolidation of society and sustainable socio-economic development, said the "Nykhas" party, calling for support for him in the presidential elections in South Ossetia.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 6, the acting president of South Ossetia, Marat Kambolov, reported on the work of the public support headquarters, stating that in two months his activists managed to make progress on issues that had accumulated over the years. Social media users urged Kambolov not to forget his campaign promises and to address the stated problems. Ten days before the presidential elections in South Ossetia, the acting head of the republic, Marat Kambolov, expanded his public activity: he opened a public support headquarters, responds to residents' appeals, and outlines the priorities for the republic's development. Meanwhile, the campaigning of his opponents remains inconspicuous.
On June 23, Alan Gagloev resigned as president of South Ossetia after being appointed an advisor to Vladimir Putin, and the temporary execution of the duties of the head of the republic passed to the Prime Minister Marat Kambolov. The Parliament of South Ossetia on July 1 scheduled a vote for September 18. In July, Vladimir Putin publicly expressed support for Kambolov in the upcoming elections. Four candidates for the presidency of South Ossetia have been registered – Marat Kambolov, Zurab Kokoev, Murat Valiev, and Kazbek Kodoev. The "Caucasian Knot" has collected materials on the election campaign on the page "Kambolov's Elections in South Ossetia".
The "Nykhas" party supported the candidacy of Marat Kambolov in the upcoming presidential elections of the Republic of South Ossetia, as stated in the party's Telegram channel.
The party emphasized that the country needs a leader capable of ensuring the consolidation of society, strengthening statehood, and sustainable socio-economic development.
"We see in Marat Kambolov a leader capable of building a constructive dialogue with all socio-political forces — not just in words, but in deeds," said the Political Council of the RPP "Nykhas".
"The Republic faces large-scale tasks of strengthening statehood, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development, and improving the welfare of citizens. To address these tasks, a leader is needed who has authority on the international stage, capable of building strategic partnerships and consistently implementing long-term plans. Marat Arkadyevich Kambolov fully meets these requirements," the party stated, noting his "many years of experience in public service, leadership roles in federal structures, and in responsible positions".
"Nykhas" also called on the citizens of South Ossetia to support the candidacy of Marat Kambolov, emphasizing the need for unity around national tasks.
Alan Gagloev, nominated for the presidency by the "Nykhas" party, took office as president of South Ossetia in May 2022. The previous president Anatoly Bibilov lost the elections, which were held in two rounds. Shortly before his departure, on May 13, 2022, Bibilov signed a decree on holding a referendum on the issue of joining South Ossetia to Russia. Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov later stated that this idea "requires further legal refinement", and Alan Gagloev, upon becoming president, suspended the implementation of Bibilov's decree until consultations with the Russian side were completed. The Russian Foreign Ministry approved this decision, indicating that Bibilov's initiative had not been coordinated with the Kremlin.
