Two Azerbaijani sailors died in a drone attack on a ship in the Black Sea.

Two citizens of Azerbaijan died and two others were injured in a drone attack on the cargo ship TEDY in the Black Sea. The damaged ship, flying the flag of Somalia, was heading from the Odessa area towards Romanian Constanta. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry is providing consular assistance to the victims and taking measures for their return home.

"Caucasian Knot" reported that 11 citizens of Azerbaijan were on board the civilian cargo ship Atlas Bey, which was attacked by a drone off the coast of Odessa on the afternoon of July 14. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported on July 15 that ten of them had been evacuated, and the search for the captain continues. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry urged citizens of the country to "refrain from traveling to regions where military operations are taking place," including refraining from working on vehicles and ships operating through such regions. The body of the captain of the civilian cargo ship Atlas Bey, Azerbaijani citizen Samad Nasrullayev, was found and delivered to Odessa, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported on the evening of July 16.

On September 9, drones attacked a foreign cargo ship TEDY in the Black Sea, which had citizens of Azerbaijan on board. According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, two Azerbaijani sailors died, and two others were injured.

As a result of the attack on September 9 in the Black Sea on the cargo ship "TEDY," Azerbaijani citizens Aslan Aliyev and Asim Gasimov died, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

Two other citizens of the country, Imran Novruzov and Rauf Aliyev, were injured. The injured were taken to a hospital in the city of Chornomorsk in Ukraine, the ministry noted.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry is coordinating the situation with the country's diplomatic missions and the competent authorities of the relevant states, the statement emphasizes.

"Measures are being taken to return the injured citizens to Azerbaijan after they undergo medical examination and treatment," the release states.

The Azerbaijani side is providing the necessary consular support to the victims and conducting procedures related to the deceased.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry again urged citizens of the country to refrain from traveling to regions where military operations are ongoing or where the security situation remains unstable. Citizens are separately advised not to engage in labor activities in such territories and not to work on vehicles, including ships, traveling on such routes.

According to the Public Union "Support for Azerbaijani Sailors," the drone attack on the ship TEDY occurred on the morning of September 9 near the port of Odessa.

On board the ship, owned by Mert Marine Corporation and flying the flag of Somalia, there were 10 people: 4 citizens of Azerbaijan, 3 from Turkey, 2 from Germany, and 1 from Ukraine. As a result of the first attack, the ship was damaged.

Later, at night, when the damaged ship was heading towards the Romanian port of Constanta, it was attacked again by two drones. This time, the consequences were more severe. Two Azerbaijani sailors, Aslan Aliyev and Asim Gasimov, died, the statement said.

Two other citizens of Azerbaijan on board sustained burns of varying severity. The injured were hospitalized in one of the medical facilities in the city of Odessa, where they are receiving the necessary assistance, the Public Union "Support for Azerbaijani Sailors" stated in conclusion.
