Mourning for the victims of the drone attack has been declared in Novorossiysk.

Residents of Novorossiysk organized a memorial in the park for those who died in the drone attack, while the city authorities canceled entertainment events. Among the damaged houses was a multi-story residential complex, which had already been hit by a drone in November 2025.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on the night of September 9, according to the governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratiev, four people were killed in the drone attack on Novorossiysk, including a child, and another 29 people were injured. According to the Ministry of Health, 28 people were hospitalized, including two children. As a result of the attack, residential buildings, a clinic, businesses, and educational institutions were damaged. 472 apartments in 73 multi-apartment buildings and 69 private households were affected, with six households in the Eastern district damaged almost to the ground, the city head reported.

The authorities of Novorossiysk declared mourning for the victims of the drone attack on September 9, deciding to cancel all entertainment events and lower state and regional flags.

A memorial has appeared in the park named after Rybnyev, where residents of the city bring flowers, candles, and toys. During the day on September 9, city administration officials, including the head of Novorossiysk, Andrey Kravchenko, laid flowers there.

What is known about the victims of the attack

Among the deceased were elderly spouses who lived in a private house on Chkalov Street. When the drone crashed into their house, they were on the porch. A fire broke out in the house, the roof was completely destroyed, and windows and doors were blown out. At least three neighboring houses were also damaged.

“Inside my house, a crack appeared from the impact, and a window was blown out. And the neighbors... they are no more,” said a resident of one of the neighboring houses. According to a neighbor, the deceased couple was about 70 years old.

“At that very moment, they were standing with his wife on the doorstep - smoking, watching the drones fly. And one circled, circled, and crashed into their house. That’s how they were found. Hands, legs torn off (...) Maybe if they had been inside, they would have survived,” the newspaper “Novorossiysk Worker” quotes the words of the deceased's niece, as well as the words of the neighbor.

Another resident of Chkalov Street, who identified himself as Igor, said that there are no bomb shelters in the private sector. During the attack, he and his family members “were sitting in the bathroom.”

The third victim, according to the publication, was 54-year-old Tatyana Potapova, a resident of house No. 4 on Mikhail Borisov Street, which was also hit by the UAV. In her apartment on the second floor, there are now “no doors, no windows, no roof.”

“Everything was demolished by the explosion, destroyed by the fire, and washed away during its extinguishing. In the wrecked refrigerator, there is a burnt pot. [The neighbor from the first floor] Svetlana laments that she just did repairs. Now her new stretch ceilings barely hold up the floor of the deceased Tatyana's apartment, and the emergency services ask not to enter these rooms at all - they could collapse at any moment,” the publication describes the damaged house.

In the hospital after the attack are 17 out of 29 injured. The condition of four patients is assessed as serious. “If necessary, all patients will be transferred to regional facilities. Colleagues from the ambulance service in neighboring areas have come to our aid, providing additional vehicles,” quotes the words of the deputy chief physician of the city hospital No. 1 of Novorossiysk, Denis Puntasov, “Kuban 24”.

The residential complex in Novorossiysk has been damaged by a drone for the second time in a year

The multi-story residential complex on Murat Akhedzhak Street was hit by a drone for the second time in a year. The first time it was damaged during a drone attack on November 25, 2025, and the second time - on the night of September 9.

After the first incident, residents of the building on Murat Akhedzhak Street complained about insufficient compensation amounts (15,675 rubles) or their absence. At that time, the authorities refused to repair the windows, stating that they “are not a matter of primary necessity,” notes Yuga.Ru.

A resident of the building, Alisa, said that several apartments in the building burned out, including her own. On the night of the attack, she was staying at her parents' house in another part of the city.

According to the woman, the UAV “crashed into the same entrance” as in November, at the level of the eighth floor. Her neighbors' “apartment turned into a barn, everything is destroyed,” writes the Telegram channel “Caution, News.”
