Putin named the Grozny station after Kadyrov

The railway station Grozny was named after Akhmat Kadyrov by Putin's decree. Ramzan Kadyrov expressed his "special gratitude" to Putin for this decision.

The father of the current head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, Akhmat Kadyrov, held the position of mufti of the unrecognized Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (the Grozny court ruled to recognize the organization "Chechen Republic of Ichkeria" ("ChRI") as terrorist and banned it on the territory of Russia, along with 29 of its subdivisions in 14 European countries), and in 2000 he was appointed head of the temporary administration of the Chechen Republic. The first president of the Chechen Republic (2003-2004) was killed on May 9, 2004, as a result of a terrorist act at the stadium in Grozny. Years of leadership in Chechnya allowed Ramzan Kadyrov to build a total family cult, according to the report from "Caucasian Knot" "In the name of the father and son: how the Kadyrovs' cult is being imposed in Chechnya".

On September 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin named the railway station Grozny after Akhmat Kadyrov. The decree about this was published by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, on his Telegram channel.

The text of the decree notes that the decision to name the station after Akhmat Kadyrov is motivated by his "special merits before the Fatherland." Ramzan Kadyrov, commenting on this decision, stated that it has "truly historical significance" for the entire Chechen people, expressing "special gratitude" to Putin.

"For the Chechen people, his unwavering respect for the memory of Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, the high assessment of his role in the fate of Russia, and constant attention to the Chechen Republic are exceptionally important," Kadyrov wrote, in particular.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in July, the Bank of Russia issued a commemorative silver coin featuring Akhmat Kadyrov. The coin, with a denomination of 2 rubles, became part of the series "Outstanding Personalities of Russia."
