Former Attorney General of Georgia Otar Partskhaladze, living in Russia, announced the creation of the international unit "Georgievsky" to participate in combat operations in Ukraine.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in October 2025, searches were conducted in the homes of former Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, former head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili, and former Attorney General Otar Partskhaladze. On December 30, the court sentenced Partskhaladze in absentia, accusing him of organizing the murder of businessman Levan Jangveladze. The former Attorney General denied guilt in the murder.

"It was Russian Mikhail Yegorov and Georgian Meliton Kantaria who raised the Banner of Victory over the Reichstag in 1945. I am confident that, just like then, the symbol of the enemy's defeat will again be raised by a Russian and a Georgian. Our like-minded people and supporters, advocating for the unification of our peoples and countries, as well as in defense of traditional family values, have formed the international unit "Georgievsky," Partskhaladze stated.
He clarified that the name is related to the Georgievsky Treaty of 1783, which played a huge role in the history of the Georgian people. The main task of the unit, according to him, is to "bring to an end the fight against the evil that threatens not only us but the whole world".
Romanov-Partskhaladze noted that he voluntarily went to the territory of Ukraine to participate in battles on the side of Russia. In addition, he emphasized that from the very beginning of the hostilities, he and his team have been actively assisting Russian servicemen.
In mid-September, the UK imposed sanctions against former Attorney General of Georgia Otar Partskhaladze, believing that he supports the military operation of Russia in Ukraine.
"Today, when Russia is fighting against Western pressure to preserve its identity, traditions, language, and culture, I am ready to help my homeland achieve all the goals set by the leader," he added.
Partskhaladze served as Attorney General from November 7, 2013, to December 30, 2013. He resigned after the opposition discovered that he had previously been convicted in Germany for theft. After leaving office, Partskhaladze engaged in private entrepreneurship. In October 2023, the then President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili signed a decree stripping Otar Partskhaladze of Georgian citizenship. He adopted the second surname "Romanov" after moving to Russia, Georgian media reported.
