A native of Beslan has been sentenced to real time for a donation to the FBK*.

A court in Moscow sentenced Elena Albegova, a native of North Ossetia, to three years in a penal colony, finding her guilty of financing extremist activities due to a donation of one thousand rubles to the Anti-Corruption Foundation*.

The case of Elena Albegova, accused of financing extremist activities (part 1 of article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for a prison term of three to eight years), was considered by the Golovinsky Court of Moscow. The case was initiated due to a transfer of 1000 rubles to the FBK* made in August 2021, shortly after the organization was recognized as extremist.

Albegova fully admitted her guilt and expressed remorse in court. The prosecutor requested a three-year sentence for her, and the judge agreed, imposing exactly that punishment, reports “Mediazona” (included in the Russian register of foreign agents).

The 46-year-old Albegova has been living in the capital for the last 11 years, having moved from North Ossetia to Moscow in 2015 to help her sister raise a child. During the trial, she stated that she learned about Navalny's activities in 2015 when he participated in regional elections, but in recent years she “had not followed their activities.”

The woman was detained at the end of June, and on July 4, the court sent her to a pre-trial detention center. The data of the native of Beslan was entered into the register of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring exactly one month before her arrest, on June 4.

Albegova's sentence is the second known case where a woman received real time for a donation to the FBK*, the publication notes. The first case was a three-year sentence for Ukrainian Lyudmila Gonchar, also handed down in Moscow in the summer of 2025.

Residents of southern Russia have repeatedly been held accountable for donations to the “Anti-Corruption Foundation”*. The organization was recognized as extremist in August 2021, so the basis for prosecuting donors are transfers made since that time.

Thus, in September 2025, the Anapa District Court sentenced Alexander Protasov to a fine of 500 thousand rubles due to a transfer of 500 rubles to the FBK*. Earlier, Krasnodar resident Sergey Anosov received a fine of 600 thousand rubles for a donation to the FBK* of 2100 rubles, and Ilya Bazikalov from Astrakhan was sentenced to a fine of 500 thousand.

At the end of May 2025, the court imposed one and a half years of forced labor on Krasnodar resident Dmitry Dyba, whose donations amounted to 1050 rubles. The regional court later overturned the sentence and sent Dyba's case for a new trial. Following the review in March, Dyba was fined 300 thousand rubles.
