Activists held a rally near the Russian embassy in Yerevan in support of people they consider political prisoners.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in Yerevan, activists periodically hold rallies demanding the release of prisoners, whose prosecution they consider unjust. This concerns both prisoners in Russia and in European countries. For instance, on August 28, at the German embassy in Yerevan, picketers expressed support for Dmitry Bagrash, who faces deportation from Germany to Russia.

Today in Yerevan, several activists held a rally at the German embassy in support of Dmitry Bagrash, who faces deportation to Russia after his release. According to the participants of the rally, Bagrash continues to insist on his innocence and has appealed the verdict, the RusNews Telegram channel reported.

Also, today a picket was held at the Russian embassy in Yerevan in support of Russian prisoners. The participants of the rally demanded their release. They held placards depicting former governor of the Khabarovsk region Sergey Furgal, his accountant Galina Aleinikova, and her deputy Svetlana Osipenko, the Telegram channel reported in another publication.

Recall that the court sentenced Sergey Furgal to 23 years in prison. In December 2025, he received a new sentence – Furgal was found guilty on economic charges under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, with a total sentence of 25 years.

According to German authorities, in 2022 Dmitry Bagrash attempted to set fire to the building of the news agency RIA "Novosti" in Berlin. The investigation believes that Bagrash placed a homemade bomb in the basement of the building where agency employees lived. The bomb did not go off and was later found by the police, the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel reported on its website on June 22.

On June 20, Bagrash was charged with attempted murder. Before his arrest, he held rallies against Vladimir Putin's policies, the publication noted.
