The Russian government has not published reports from the meetings of the government commission on eliminating the consequences of the oil spill for two weeks after reporting the completion of oil pumping from the sunken parts of tankers near Anapa.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 21, the authorities reported the completion of oil pumping from the sunken tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" in the Kerch Strait. At that time, the authorities stated that no new oil product discharges had been recorded along the coastline. Social media users inquired about the timelines for raising the sunken parts of the tankers. However, satellite images show oil films in the areas of the sinking of the stern of "Volgoneft-212" and the bow of "Volgoneft-239". This may be related to the inability to completely pump out the oil products, the satellite monitoring project indicated.

For the second consecutive week, after the announcement of the completion of oil pumping from the sunken parts of the tankers, the Russian government has not reported on the meeting of the government commission on eliminating the consequences of the emergency situation in the Black Sea.
