A fighter from Kabardino-Balkaria killed in Ukraine

Alan Kushkhov was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 471 combatants from Kabardino-Balkaria killed there.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by August 29, officials and security forces officially recognized at least 4798 fighters from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District killed in Ukraine, including 469 from Kabardino-Balkaria.

A stand dedicated to graduate Alan Kushkhov, who was killed in a military operation, was opened at a school in Nartkala, reported the "Defenders of the Fatherland. KBR" fund on their Telegram channel.

Details of the military's biography and death were not provided in the fund's message.

Thus, at least 471 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" knows the names of 458 of them, and the deaths of another 13 became known from the report of the republic's authorities on payments to the families of those killed in 2022. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses for southern Russia are increasing".

For instance, the mother of the killed Dmitry Ukhanov said that she searched for her son's body for four months, while officials from the administration and military enlistment office inquired about the progress of the search without providing any help.
