Rosstat's data on the rise in gasoline prices has caused skepticism among the residents of Dagestan.
Since the beginning of June, gasoline in Dagestan has risen to 102 rubles per liter, Rosstat reported. Residents of the republic, commenting on this data on social media, stated that fuel prices have doubled. They noted that gasoline, which used to cost 70 rubles, is now sold for 150 rubles per liter.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 30, residents of Dagestan expressed their outrage online that gasoline prices continue to rise in the republic: at several gas stations, the price of AI-95 per liter reached 149 rubles.
According to Rosstat, from the beginning of June to August 24, the average price of gasoline in Dagestan increased by 46.2% – to 102.25 rubles per liter, the agency reported today to RIA "Dagestan".
This data from Rosstat was also published today by the Instagram*-public dagestan_like, which has about 95.8 thousand followers. As of 16:40 Moscow time on September 1, this post received 44 likes and 46 comments.
Commenters, identifying themselves as residents of Dagestan, considered Rosstat's data to be understated and indicated that gasoline in the republic has roughly doubled in price. "One hundred percent at the moment. It was 65, today it's 140," wrote user dzheki3897.
"The other day I filled up at 145 rubles for AI-95. It used to be 68–70 rubles. An increase of more than 100 percent," noted a user with the nickname donald_tramp_7771.
"It has risen by 105%, judging by today's prices," indicated santoni_7777.
Other commenters disputed the average price reported by Rosstat, stating that gasoline costs 130–150 rubles per liter. "Where can I fill up for 102 rubles, can you tell me, admin?" asked kurbanismail691.
"As of today, the most expensive gasoline in Dagestan: AI-95 – 140 rubles," noted user sanish_832.
"It's already 150," emphasized user prostonebo.
Recall that on August 17, a correspondent from "Caucasian Knot" found only two out of ten checked gas stations on Akushinsky Avenue in Makhachkala operational, and one of them did not have AI-95 gasoline. On August 28, the acting head of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, instructed to create an operational headquarters, strengthen control over fuel supplies and prices, and expedite the resumption of operations at gas stations closed for violations.
