Residents of the house in Khasavyurt demanded to complete the roof repair.

Residents of an apartment building in Khasavyurt reported that their entrance has been flooded several times with water from the roof, the repair of which began in June and is still not finished. People are afraid of an explosion of electrical panels.

In June 2026, as part of a major renovation, the roof of the apartment building in Khasavyurt, located at Gamzalaeva Street, house No. 3, began to be replaced. To this day, the roof is not covered.

The residents' appeal was published by the Telegram channel @chernovik.net, which has over 48 thousand subscribers. By 06:30, the publication had gained over four thousand views.

"Yesterday, once again, we found ourselves in an emergency situation, from which none of the emergency services helped us escape. During another rain, by the way, already the third time in the last 10 days, we faced a situation where water was pouring into the entrance from the hatch on the 5th floor like a waterfall. As a result, one apartment on the 5th floor and the apartment opposite it were flooded," the residents of the house write.

According to them, water was pouring onto the electrical panel located on the fourth floor. The force of the flow made it impossible to open the doors. The video attached to the complaint was filmed by neighbors from the first floor who came to help. Grabbing their children, people had to run outside, where they waited for help for five hours.

"The emergency service 112 and 101 connected us with the service for the city of Khasavyurt, who after two hours of figuring out who is 'in charge', suggested writing a complaint to the capital repair service on behalf of the deputy head of the city. When asked to help now, before the entire apartment, the whole entrance is flooded and the panels catch fire, they hung up and stopped answering calls," the residents complain.

The affected demanded that the ongoing roof repair be completed as soon as possible, find those responsible, and explain why help was not provided to citizens who found themselves in an emergency situation due to the fault of the utility services for the third time.

"What are all these services for if in such situations we are offered to write complaints? Who should we expect help from?" they wrote in conclusion.

On July 30, the Dagestan Capital Repair Fund reported that work on the major renovation of apartment buildings had started in Khasavyurt, including on Gamzalaeva Street. This was reported by the fund's press service on their Telegram channel.

"Currently, builders are performing the installation of a reinforced belt and the installation of the rafter system. These structures serve as the basis for the future roof, ensuring its strength, stability, and reliability," the message from the capital repair fund stated.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the authorities of Dagestan stated that the housing and communal services facilities are 62% ready for the autumn-winter period. Residents of the republic, commenting on this report on social media, doubted the provided data, complained about the rise in utility tariffs and problems with infrastructure.
