Buava's lawyer disagrees with the police version of his death.

Two people have been detained by Georgian security forces for drug possession, and the girlfriend of the accused of treason in Abkhazia, Daur Buava, with whom, according to the security forces, the blogger used drugs before his death, is charged with leaving a person in danger. The defense is seeking an alternative examination.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the body of Abkhaz blogger Daur Buava, who was accused of treason in Abkhazia, was found in a rented apartment in Tbilisi. An investigation is underway under the article "Driving to suicide." Daur Buava, due to his views, received numerous threats, said Tamta Mikheladze, head of the "Center for Social Justice" in connection with the death of the Abkhaz blogger.

Lawyer Natia Mezvrishvili, representing the interests of the deceased Abkhaz blogger Daur Buava in Tbilisi, stated her disagreement with the official version of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia — that his death could be related to drug use.

"We do not agree with the version of the investigation. This is only a version and this fact is not confirmed," her words are quoted by "News of Georgia."

The defense will seek an alternative examination. According to Mezvrishvili, she has already notified the investigative authorities and is currently looking for an expert. Buava's family, as the lawyer says, lives in Moscow, and she has not yet been able to contact the relatives.

The police reported the detention of his acquaintance — a citizen of a foreign state — on charges of leaving a person in danger.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia voiced the following version of the incident: Buava and his girlfriend were together in the apartment and used drugs, after which both felt unwell. The blogger was in critical, life-threatening condition, but the girl left him alone, locked the apartment from the outside with a second key, and left without calling an ambulance or reporting what happened, the statement said.

Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on searches in two residential buildings in Tbilisi and on charges of acquiring and storing narcotic substances. Ten packages of various types of narcotic substances were seized, and two people were detained.

During the current investigation into the criminal case, including based on interviews, it is confirmed that both detainees were acquainted with Daur Buava and his girlfriend, who was detained by the police yesterday, "Georgia Online" informed.
