Mikhail Kargin was killed in a military operation in Ukraine, reported the administration of the Sholokhovsky district. He was born on January 31, 1981, in the village of Veshenskaya. In 1998, he entered the Novocherkassk Mechanical Engineering College, after which he was admitted to the Faculty of Law of the Southern Russian Humanitarian Institute. In 2004, he successfully completed his studies and was awarded the qualification of "lawyer." In the summer of the same year, he began service in the law enforcement agencies of the Rostov region. On January 28, 2021, he retired after years of service with the rank of senior lieutenant of police.

On November 24, 2022, he went to the front as a volunteer. He was killed on June 16, 2023, while performing combat tasks. He was awarded the medal "For Courage" and the Order of Courage (posthumously).

Thus, at least 983 military personnel from the Rostov region have been officially recognized as killed.

In January 2024, city authorities reported that senior sergeant Mikhail Vyalikov was killed in the zone of the special military operation.
