The authorities' report on combating the fuel crisis has caused skepticism among the residents of Dagestan.

The acting head of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, instructed to create an operational headquarters, strengthen control over fuel supplies and prices, and expedite the resumption of operations at gas stations closed for violations. Residents of Dagestan, commenting on these measures on social media, doubted their effectiveness and complained about high prices and a lack of functioning gas stations.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 26, the authorities of Makhachkala reported on the unstable situation with fuel supplies and promised the arrival of large volumes of fuel at several gas stations.

The acting head of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin instructed to take additional measures to stabilize the situation in the fuel market.

According to the administration of the head of Dagestan, Shchukin instructed to ensure stable fuel supplies, constant monitoring of its availability, control over the justification of retail prices, as well as to eliminate violations at closed gas stations as quickly as possible and resume operations at those whose owners have complied with the law. He also instructed to create a temporary operational headquarters that should operate until the urgency of the problem decreases.

Some commentators, positioning themselves as residents of Dagestan, skeptically assessed the new measures and doubted that the officials' statements would lead to changes. Recall that on August 24, the Union of Entrepreneurs of Dagestan warned about the depletion of fuel supplies at some gas stations, after which drivers complained about a lack of gasoline and long lines.

On August 17, a correspondent for "Caucasian Knot" found only two out of ten checked gas stations operating on Akushinsky Avenue in Makhachkala.

On July 31, the authorities announced checks of closed gas stations in Makhachkala for their subsequent reopening, while social media users pointed out that reopening gas stations alone would not solve the problem of high prices.

On June 23, Fyodor Shchukin promised not to allow further price increases for gasoline, including with the help of the antimonopoly service, but residents of the republic demanded that he confirm his promises with results.
