A resident of Dagestan was convicted of aiding terrorism and embezzling social benefits.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don found Dagestani resident Amirulakh Aliyev guilty of aiding terrorists and fraud with payments and sentenced him to eight years and six months in prison.

On August 24, the verdict was announced in the criminal case against Amirulakh Aliyev, who was accused of aiding terrorist activities and fraud in obtaining social benefits.

According to the investigation and the court, from March 13 to August 8, 2024, while in Derbent, Aliyev sympathized with and was a follower of the ideas of banned international organizations "Islamic State"* and "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham"*, reports the Southern District Military Court on its page on "VKontakte".

In order to assist terrorist activities, he transferred 54,300 rubles to them in ten transactions, knowing that these funds would be used to support their activities.

The investigation also claims that on February 3, 2023, in Derbent, Aliyev provided the Social Protection Department with forged documents and a business plan for cargo transportation to obtain a social contract worth up to 350,000 rubles. After receiving these funds, on April 3, 2023, he provided knowingly false information about the implementation of the business plan, presenting a fake sales contract for a car that was never purchased, and the business plan was not implemented.

By the court's verdict, Amirulakh Aliyev was found guilty and sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison. He will serve the first two years of his sentence in prison, and the remainder in a strict regime correctional colony.

Amirulakh Aliyev is 29 years old, he was born in Derbent, according to the record in the register of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring. According to a bot that tracks updates in this list, Aliyev's data with a note of involvement in terrorism was added there on October 31, 2025.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that law enforcement suspected a resident of Dagestan of involving minors in the activities of a terrorist organization. The court in Makhachkala arrested him for two months in July.
